Topographic Surveys
Topographic Surveys are graphic terrain representations of
a tract of land. There are several applications in which this
information can be used. Topographic Surveys depict the locations of
both natural and artificial features and how they differ in
elevation. They may also include cross sections, profiles,
contouring, and drainage. Topographic Surveys are used for the
determination of volumes and quantities. Often a Topographic Survey
is required in land planning to determine the useable land on
proposed developments.
Topographic surveys are preformed using Global Positioning System
(G.P.S.) and Total Stations, tied into geodetic control. Eagle
Point’s surface modeling module is used to create a surface tin and
contours. The software result is then verified on the ground
ensuring the accuracy of the topographic map.
